Aaron Rhynes Obituary

Aaron Rhynes, age 39, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Aaron was born in Corpus Christi to Jay Rhynes and Deanna Borman. He attended Yeager Elementary, Kaffie Middle School, and King High School. During his youth, he was a member of Lexington Baptist Church.

Aaron was known as a hard and diligent worker. He began working in construction at a young age, learning all aspects of the trade. He was meticulous in his work, always aspiring to be the best at what he did. Later, he began working on an exotic animal ranch in Edwards County, where he deeply enjoyed his time outside and embraced all the nuances of ranching. His skills acquired throughout life were varied, and he was always quick to offer a hand whenever called or asked.

Aaron loved. That is truly the best way to describe him. He loved his family, most especially his son Connor, his dad Jay, his mom Deanna, his brother Jeremy, and his sisters Amber and Mia. Aaron loved his friends—his buddies for life. He also loved his faithful companion, Blu. Wherever you saw Aaron, his dog Blu was right by his side, no matter what.

Aaron made friends easily, held onto them tightly, and defended them to the end. He described himself as a "sheep dog," looking out for those he felt needed it, and was always quick to step in and defend others by word or deed. He was the epitome of an adventure seeker—nothing was out of range or impossible to him, and it was always worth it. He would pick up the pieces (sometimes of himself), dust off, clean up, and look for the next crazy, exciting experience.

Aaron loved nature, and being outside was his way of refueling. He loved looking out across the beach at the water, listening to the wind and crashing waves, sitting and looking across the land, watching the sunset, or sitting quietly under the night sky. He appreciated it all, even the tiniest of flowers tucked into hidden places in the rough terrain. Animals of every kind caught Aaron's attention, from fish and tiny bugs to interesting snakes, dogs, horses, kittens, and birds. Overall, Aaron lived with an intense passion for life, going full speed ahead, and he loved people with that exact same energy.

Aaron is survived by his treasured son, Connor Rhynes of Corpus Christi, Texas; his dad, Jay Rhynes of Rocksprings, Texas; his mom, Deanna, and her husband, Phil Borman of Merkel, Texas; his brother, Jeremy, and his wife, Anita Rhynes of Columbus, Ohio; his sister, Amber, and her husband, Ruben Estrada of Grand Junction, Colorado; and his sister, Mia Gryseels of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by his niece, Marley Estrada of Grand Junction, Colorado, and his uncle Keith and wife RaDonna Rhynes and family of Garland, Texas, with whom he was especially close. Aaron is further survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Joan Rhynes, and his maternal grandparents, Norita Caruthers and Sidney Campbell.

Aaron will be remembered for his wild adventures, as well as his love, which was larger than life.
