Agapito Jimenez Obituary

Agapito (Jim) Jimenez departed this world as we know it on Sunday, 30 May, 2021 at 10:45 PM.

Agapito was born on the 18th of August, 1931 in Taft, Texas to Matilde and Victoria Jimenez. He was the oldest of 9 children and big brother to them all. He was a graduate of Tex-Mex Industrial Institute in 1951. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 8 years and served abroad at Burtonwood Air Base, Warrington, England. He met his wife, Ann Lorraine in England in October 1953 and married her on January 4, 1958 at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He had three children: Michael Stephen, Laurie Lanette, and Mark Gerardo and three grandchildren: Jordan Frederick and Jeremy Aaron Haraldson and Alex Santiago Jimenez.

Agapito lived in Liverpool, England after his time in the Air Force and became an employee of Walkers Brewery and was the first Mexican-American to have his name above a Pub door as the Head Publican. He moved back with his family to the United States in 1967 and settled in Corpus Christi, Texas. Jim became a welcome presence at the Corpus Christi Country Club where he worked until his retirement in 1995; touching many lives.

He is survived by his three children and three grandchildren.

Dad, your positive attitude and your strength in character will be surely missed.
