Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Aleta's love for life did not end with her death. Her family will honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Aleta Carter, 70, passed away on November 25,2023, in Rockport, TX. Aleta was born on April 17, 1953 in Kingsport, TN, to Elbert Kennedy and Georgia Kennedy. Aleta married Mack Carter, II on November 2, 1973 in Gate City, VA. Aleta and her husband Wayne had 4 children Tina Rudd, Melissa Carter, Lena Carter, and Ellen Carter. Wayne and Aleta spent their first year of marriage in Tennessee and moved to Texas with other family a short time later. Wayne and Aleta dedicated their lives to raising their children with family morals and values. Aleta ended her job at the newspaper to stay home and raise their 4 daughters. After her children left home she worked as a manager at the Goodwill, along with other small jobs until her husband retired in 2018. Aleta never gave up an opportunity to spend time with her family no matter the time of day. She spent endless late nights talking, listening to music, fishing and playing cards, creating memories that will forever be cherished. She devoted her life to making others happy, she always knew how to cheer one up in their time of need whether it was a joke, silence, kiss, or a hug. The lord took her home and she will forever be missed. Her memory will live on through our shared and treasured stories.
Aleta is survived by her husband, Mack Carter, II, her daughters Ellen Carter, Tina Rudd, Melissa Carter, Lena Carter, her granddaughters Daisy Carter, Stefani Rudd, Meghan Rudd , her grandsons Alec Carter, Brendan Carter, Dylan Thomas, Caleb Thomas, her son-in-laws Steven Hernandez, Lynn Rudd,and many other relatives and friends.
Aleta is preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Georgia Kennedy.
