Barbara Jeanne (McGowan) Green

Barbara Green, 88, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Barbara was born on October 1, 1936, in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to Clyde McGowan and Evie Barney.

In 1956, Barbara married John D. Green and started a family, having a daughter and two sons. Barbara and her husband were married for 31 years until his death in 1987.

Barbara was known for her love of many things such as bowling, playing softball, going to the beach and playing cards and games with friends and family. She had a beautiful smile, loved to laugh and found joy in spending time with her loved ones.

Barbara was known as "Mema" to her family and was also known as "Mama Green" by friends and the many children that she cared for at daycare in her home.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Nancy Turk - son David Green and his wife Sharon - and son John E. Green. She was also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Evie, and her siblings Richard
McGowan, Patricia McGowan, Jimmie McGowan and Donnie McGowan.

It was her wish to be cremated. There will be no memorial service. Barbara is loved and will be dearly missed by many.
