Bobbie Williams Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobbie Jean Williams, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on March 19, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 16, 1941, in Harlingen, Texas, Bobbie lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service, leaving an incredible mark on all who knew him.

Bobbie was the son of Charley D. Williams, Sr. and Rosa Frances Craig (Vaughn), who preceded him in death, alongside his brother Curtis Craig, infant sister Patsy Williams, devoted wife Zelda Lea Williams, granddaughter Netashia Renai Allen, and two infant great-grandchildren, Riley Matthew and Brylee Nicole, as well as his beloved canine companion, Sancha.

His legacy continues through his cherished stepmother, Maria Williams, his loving siblings, Charlene Lopes (August), Charley D. Williams, Jr. (Alma), and Janie Ward (Lindsey), his adoring children, Rosa Lea Scott, Bobbie Jean Williams (Stacey), and Sheryl Williams Allen (Brian); and his grandchildren, Stephanie Skillern (Robert), Benjamin Prieto, Katie Lynn Van Meter (Shane), Darla Star McCrary (John), Amanda Lea Williams, and Dustin Ryan Allen (Wendi). Bobbie was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

With an honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps, Bobbie is one of our nation's heroes in that during his time in Vietnam, he worked diligently to help preserve the memories of those he served with. Bobbie's commitment to service extended beyond his military career. For many years Bobbie was a dedicated truck driver, traversing the highways and byways, all the while forging connections with those he met along the way. During the summertime, Bobbie would sell produce, giving samples to any children that came by. Bobbie was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, where he enjoyed contributing to community efforts and connecting with fellow members.

Known as a social butterfly, Bobbie had a gift for making friends wherever he went. His warm personality, infectious sense of humor, boisterous laugh, and protective nature endeared him to family and friends alike. There was nothing more he cherished than enjoying the company of his loved ones, spending time outdoors, and gathering for coffee shop conversations that brought joy and camaraderie.

Bobbie's family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable life on April 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas. In honor of Bobbie's legacy and spirit, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA), a cause close to their hearts.

As we remember Bobbie Jean Williams, let us cherish the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
