Carlos Lujan Acosta

Carlos Lujan Acosta (72) passed away on May 10, 2022, in Gregory, TX. Carlos was born on January 16, 1950 in El Mulato, Chihuahua, to his parents Enrique Pando Acosta and Victoria Lujan Acosta.

Carlos graduated from Odessa High School in 1969 and went on to attend Texas Tech University until he was drafted into the Army. He proudly served his country from 1971 to 1976. He began his career as an Instrumentation Technician and worked for Valero Refinery for over 20 years.

Carlos married Dolores Alvarado in 1969 and had 3 children, Rodney (Deanna) Acosta, Charlie (Leigh) Acosta, and Shasta Acosta. He later married Lucia Dominguez in 1977 and had 3 children Archie (Amanda) Acosta, Carlos (Leslie) Acosta and Aldo Acosta.

Carlos was best known for his gifted charismatic personality that was well noted everywhere he traveled. Carlos had the perfect combination of intelligence and common sense, including a great sense of humor that would naturally put a smile on anyone's face. Carlos was an extremely giving person with a big heart who loved to fish, dance, sing and help others.

Carlos is survived by his partner, Mary Garza, his six children, 2 brothers Marcos L. (Yesenia) Acosta and Alejandro L. (Stacy) Acosta, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom him loved dearly.

Carlos is preceded in death by his parents Enrique & Victoria Acosta and his brother,  Armando Acosta.

The service for Carlos Acosta will be held on Sunday May 15, 2022.

Visitation: Grace Point Church 4755 Wildcat Dr. Portland Texas 78374 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Interment will be at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery on Monday May 16, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
