Carlos Martinez, 39, passed away on May 16, 2022 in Corpus Chrisit, TX

Carlos Martinez was born on May 27, 1982 in Gregory, TX, to Antonio Martinez Jr. and Veronica Martinez.

He started his career as a General contractor and went on to work for himself as a private contractor for many years. Carlos also enjoyed being a technician at the Chrysler dealership in Aransas Pass. He was employed there for five years. He loved working on cars. Carlos was in the process of building a Hemi for his truck. Carlos' magic hands were able to build or fix anything. For stubborn projects, he spent the necessary time to research solutions in order to accomplish the task at hand. No job was left unfinished!

Carlos' life partner is Athena Kolodziej. Athena had 3 children whom Carlos loved as his own, Michael Kolodziej, Rhianna Kolodziej, Maddie Kolodziej.

Carlos was best known for his smile. He was always happy and kind to others. He was courageous, compassionate, generous honest and most importantly, he loved others more than he loved himself. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed giving his love and attention and watching them grown. He had a love for music and was a talented singer and guitar player.

Carlos is survived by his life partner, Athena Kolodziej, his mother Veronica Martinez of Aransas Pass, his sonMichael Kolodziej, and daughters Rhianna Kolodziej, Maddie Kolodziej, his sister Dakota Isabel Martinez, his nephews Thomas Blaize Richard, Nicholas Orion Richard, and Benjamin Xavier Martinez,his grandfather Antonio Martinez Sr., his grandmother Ofelia P. Gonzalez,his uncles Juan Angel Gonzalez, Jose (Joy) Gonzalez, Cristobal (Marsha) Gonzalez, and Alexander (Andrea) Gonzalez, his aunt Raquel (Todd) Buncie, Cecilia (Jim) Stevens and Norma Martinez. Also left to cherish the many wonderful memories of Carlos are numerous family members and friends.

Carlos is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Martinez Jr., and his grandmother Adela Hinojosa, maternal grandfather, Jose Angel Gonzalez Amaro, paternal aunt Marisol Martinez, paternal great grandfather, Jesus Soto Martinez, paternal great-grandmother, Benita G. Martinez, maternal great-grandfather Francisco Parra Luna and maternal great-grandmother Rita Garcia Santoy.

If Carlos were here, he would share a few words with each of you. Carlos would say: "I want you to know that I love each and every one of you in attendance. Live life with love for others. Work hard but also slow down and enjoy life. Now, eat some food, have a few drinks, jam some songs and say good-bye...until we meet again. ~ Love Carlos aka Los."
