Carolina (Olivo) Torrez

Carolina Torrez, 77, passed on to eternal life on June 9, 2022, in Ingleside, TX.

Carolina was an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose favorite flower was the rose. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and cherished every memory made during family gatherings. She always looked forward to the next family event. Carolina enjoyed listening to mariachi music and dancing to her favorite tejano band, The Hometown Boys.

However, most importantly, Carolina was a kind woman of faith who loved her Lord and Savior, values she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Portland, Texas.

Carolina is preceded in death by her parents Arnulfo and Tomasita Olivo, her husband Martin R. Torrez, and her son in law, Miguel F. Ortiz, III.

Left to cherish the many beautiful memories of Carolina are her daughters Carmel Torrez of Ingleside, and Lynda Ortiz of Portland, TX and her son Ernesto Torrez of Corpus Christi TX, five grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The Torrez family would like to express their gratitude to Miranda C. Ortiz, Carolina's granddaughter who lovingly cared for Carolina throughout her illness. Additionally, the Torrez family would like to extend their appreciation to everyone who gave of their time, love and efforts in caring for their beloved mother. It is greatly and sincerely appreciated.

If Carolina were here, she would say to each and everyone present, "Cheers!! Los quiero mucho!"

Services for Carolina Torrez will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Assumption, 2414 Main St. Ingleside, TX 78362.

Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
