Danny Gavin Adkins

Danny Gavin Adkins, age 71 of Corpus Christi, Texas was called home on July 25, 2021.

Danny was born to Kenneth and Opal Adkins in Burleson, Tennessee on December 23, 1949. He grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi and graduated from Cooper high school in 1968. He later attended Mississippi State. Danny and his wife Muffin Rapp were married for 47 years, residing in Corpus Christi throughout their marriage. They were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Kendra Diane Adkins Harrington.

Danny began his career with Joe Priour at Allied Plumbing Supply in 1973. AMFAC acquired Allied, where Danny continued his career. In 1986, Danny went to work for Ferguson Enterprises, where he eventually became the general manager until his retirement. Danny earned a myriad of awards and accolades throughout his career.

Danny was a member of Lexington Baptist Church for many years. He served on many different committees as well as a trustee and a deacon. Danny & Muffin were part of the young adult department led by Bill and Nell Jackson. Their life revolves around the church and their church family.

In 2004, Danny & Muffin purchased land in Beeville, Texas, which they named Boogies Ranch after their daughter. Danny loved his time at Boogies Ranch entertaining his family and friends.

Danny was known as Daddy-O to his four grandchildren, John, Ellie, Klara and Kenedy. He treasured the time spent with his 'babies'. His presence will be greatly missed at all their events, especially at the ball park. He affectionately became Daddy-O to all who knew him and loved him.

Danny was proceeded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Opal Adkins, his granddaughter Ellie Harrington, and his brother Jerry Adkins.

He is survived by his loving wife Muffin; his daughter, Kendra and her husband Adam Harrington; and grandchildren, John, Klara and Kenedy of Corpus Christi, Texas. Sister-in-law Tina Adkins of Weimar Texas, nephews, Caldwell Adkins (Cari) and Keith Adkins (Dora), Neice, Tammy Hilley (Paul), Great nieces, Amy Hurtado (Jon), Amber Ross (Matt), Ashton Adkins, Danielle Hilley, Abigail Hilley, great nephews Andrew Adkins, Justus Adkins and Joshua Adkins.

A memorial service will take place at Annaville Baptist Church on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 3:00 PM
