Dennis (Denny) Richard Brown passed away surrounded by family and listening to his favorite songs on January 20, 2022 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graced the world with his presence on April 5, 1952 in Corpus Christi, TX to James (Dick) Brown and Martha Brown (Ciotti). As a young child, Dennis moved to Sunnyslope, AZ where he attended Sunnyslope High School before joining the Marine Corp. After serving his country he was honorably discharged and moved to Kansas where he worked at JC Penny’s Outlet and Zadar Dairy. While working at JC Penny’s he met and fell in love with his wife Debbie. They were married in Phoenix, AZ on August 16, 1980. Dennis was patient and wise, Debbie was his feisty firecracker which was the perfect balance. Dennis worked for the City of Phoenix for 27 years while also working at AutoZone for 32 years.
His unwavering faith in God and love for his family were the 2 most important things to Dennis. His stories and quotes were a highlight to those who knew him. He often told people to remember to be “too blessed to be stressed.” Offering prayer, words of wisdom and encouragement to others anytime they needed. His most famous tagline was “Smile… make ‘em wonder.”
Dennis was known for his bigger than life personalities, amazing stories, painting and singing. He had the laugh that would make you smile even on your hardest days. He was also known for his love of cars, motorcycles, history, coins and treasure hunting. Dennis was an amazing man who put others before himself, often going without to make sure his family had what they needed. He will be fondly remembered for his selfless personality, faith in God, strength and perseverance.
Dennis is survived by his “amazingly wonderful wife” Debbie Brown, loving children Anthony Brown, Connie Brown, Timothy Brown (Rachel), Elizabeth Skufca (Dominic), Benjamin Brown, and Melissa Gonzalez (Xavier), 20 adoring grandchildren. Sister Linda Urias, brothers Jim Brown (Betty), and Larry Weaver (Robin).
Dennis was welcomed at the gates of heaven by his mom Martha Brown, dad James (Dick) Brown, step mom Mary Brown, son Steven and grandson Aiden.
