Dominga C (Cavazos) Villarreal

Dominga C. Villarreal (Riojas) of Gregory-Portland, faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ, was called Home on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

Dominga was born in Alice, Texas on May 6, 1928 to her loving parents, Arnulfo and Braulia Cavazos. Dominga married the love of her life, Reulio Riojas. Their love and union was blessed with seven beautiful children, 4 daughters and 3 sons. Dominga was an exemplary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to so many. Her family and faith were the center of her life.

Dominga was a devout Catholic who held an unfaltering belief in the power of prayer. Her faith never wavered which is why so many asked for her to pray for them. Her faith and strength were an inspiration to all her knew and loved her. Dominga was devoted to the Blessed Mother, Mary; her devotion was shown as she prayed the Holy Rosary multiple times on a daily basis. Her faith, as well as so many life lessons, are values her family will continue to instill for generations to come.

Left to treasure the many beautiful memories of Dominga are her daughters, Eva Martinez, Elvira (Andres) Rodriguez, Delia (Juan) Fernandez, Sally (Joe) Riojas, her sons Joseph "Joe" (Margarita) Riojas, Ernest "Neto" (Sylvia), Ricky Riojas and Donnie (Sue) Riojas, her sister, Angelita Perez, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as her church family.
Dominga was welcomed into Heaven by her loving parents and beloved husband, Reulio.
Dominga was a solid foundation for her family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She lived a beautiful and faithful life.

His Master said to her, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your Master's joy." ~ Matthew 25:23

Services for Dominga will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church, 107 Church St., Gregory, TX 78359. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM, recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10:30 AM, with a memorial mass to begin at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Gregory Cemetery.
