Dora S. Solis, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 10th.
Dora was born on April 13, 1927, to her mother, Luisa San Miguel, and her father, Manuel San Miguel, in San Diego, Texas.
In 1943, at the age 16, she married Baldomero P. Solis. They had 4 children, Baldomero Jr., Edna, David and Delilah.
Dora had 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She also had 5 brothers, 4 sisters, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighborhood friends, that were very dear to her.
Dora dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Whether it was making home cooked meals everyday, or driving the grandchildren to summer swimming lessons, she was our constant supporter.
Dora joyfully welcomed family and friends when they dropped by to visit. She would entertain around her kitchen, while cooking her guests a meal, or sharing a hot cup of coffee with sweet bread. Her delicious, brewed sweet tea, with tons of lemon, was a delightful treat. Especially memorable, is the sound of loud laughter, and the joking that echoed throughout the house during those gatherings. Dora's hospitality and love was felt by everyone.
Dora's hobbies included crocheting, and embroidery. Her favorite entertainment was playing bingo. She loved to relive the moments when she won those $500.00 jackpots!
At home, she enjoyed playing Lotería (Mexican Bingo) with the grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend is now at rest.
Her lifetime was filled with laughter and love, leaving a beautiful legacy that will live on for generations.
A Graveside Service will be held at Seaside Funeral Home
on Monday, March 6th at 1:00 P.M.
