Douglas Wells Obituary

Douglas “Doug” Wayne Wells died on January 18, 2021, at the age of 52. Doug was born on January 12, 1969 to Joseph “Carl” Wells and Elizabeth Wells. He was the 2nd son of Carl and the first son of Elizabeth. Douglas is survived in life by his mother Elizabeth E. Wells (Corpus Christi, TX), oldest brother Stephen E. Wells (Bostic, NC), and younger siblings Michael W. Wells, Michelle W. Wells, and Carolyn W. Wells who all reside in Corpus Christi, TX. Doug lived his entire life in Flour Bluff, TX, which is a subsection of Corpus Christi, TX. He graduated from Flour Bluff ISD in 1987. During his earlier school years he participated in many activities that focused around the Boy Scouts, swimming, and attended numerous Churches of Christ with his family. From his accomplishments in swimming, he began a long career of being a lifeguard at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, for the city of Corpus Christi parks department at Parker Pool, and for Nueces County on the beach, during which he developed numerous lifelong friendships. Doug also pursued his passion for computers and mathematics through Del Mar College, Corpus Christi State University, and Texas A&M Corpus Christi and earned two Bachelor degrees in Computer Science: Math and Science, and minored in physics and chemistry. From his degrees, Doug became an independent contractor for computer networking and monitoring. He also worked for several years as the IT engineer for Orion Drilling. Doug was a much loved man by his family and numerous friends. He sincerely enjoyed spending time with his family at meals and movies. His love of the ocean, fishing, and boating endured throughout his life. He is deeply missed by all those who loved him.
