Eric Curtis Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric Curtis Johnson, who left us too soon at the age of 44 on August 13, 2024. Born on March 2, 1980, Eric was a beloved son, brother, and friend who brought joy, laughter, and light into the lives of those who knew him.

Though his life was marked by struggles with addiction, it is important to remember Eric for the person he truly was: a kind-hearted, compassionate, and vibrant soul. Eric was an electrician by trade and really enjoyed his profession. He had a passion for surfing, kiteboarding, time at the beach, woodwork and tinkering with building things, and plants and yard work. He always loved animals and pets could always put a smile on his face. Those who knew him will always remember his infectious smile, his love for his friends, and the moments of warmth and connection he shared.

Addiction is a disease, but it does not define who Eric was. He was more than his struggles, and he fought hard against them. We hope that in his memory, others who are fighting similar battles can find hope, support, and compassion.

He is survived by his twin brother, Chris Johnson, sister, Amy Bartelt, father, Don Johnson, daughters, Avery and Arizona, and many other family and friends who loved him dearly and will continue to cherish the memories they created with him.

A memorial service to celebrate Eric's life will be held on March 29, 2025, on the beach he loved so much. We will be meeting at 12:00 PM near the end of the boardwalk from the Port Royal Condominums.
