Gerald Maurice Shedd

Gerald Maurice Shedd was taken to be with the Lord on January 29, 2021 while he was fishing in the Aransas Pass bay.   Gerald was born to James Richard Shedd and Clara May (Coleman) Shedd on February 17, 1941 in Aransas Pass, Texas. In the 1960’s, Gerald opened up his first Service Station and went on to own many stations in Aransas County.  In addition to being a full service gas station, Gerald was also a great mechanic and was trusted by many in Aransas Pass because of his honesty and great service.  Gerald loved living at the coast, and he had a passion for fishing, swimming/wading at the beach and finding treasures on the beach shore with his family.   

Gerald is preceded in death by his father James Richard Shedd, his mother Clara May (Coleman) Shedd, his brothers James D. Shedd and Clifford L. Shedd, his sisters Dorothy Shedd, Evelyn Rushing Johnson, Edith Cheek, Doris Kelly and his daughter Kathy Louis Shedd.

Gerald is survived by his by his brother Charlie Shedd and wife Jo of Aransas Pass, TX. His sister Patricia McCoy and her husband George of Aransas Pass, TX, his children Gerald (Jerry) Maurice Shedd Jr. of Aransas Pass, TX, Bucky Shedd and wife Anita of Woodsboro, Terry Willemin of Victoria, TX, Jackie Serio and husband Joe Serio Liberty Hill, TX, Phyllis and Ray Salazar of Victoria, TX, Judith Broderick and husband Lanny Broderick of Corinth, TX, Leslie Atkins and husband Jerry of Gainsville,TX.  Gerald had 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Due to COVID, the family has chosen a private “Celebration of Life”. The family is asking that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital in lieu of flowers.
