On December 15, 2025, Gilbert Gonzales-a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend-entered eternal rest, taking his first breath of Heaven. He is now embraced by his Heavenly Father.
Gilbert was born on January 26, 1960 in Portland, Texas, to loving parents Sabino A. and Dolores I. Gonzales, Gilbert grew up in a close-knit family. He graduated from Gregory-Portland High School and went on to earn his degree from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. He enjoyed working offshore and traveling. Throughout his career, Gilbert worked diligently, ultimately achieving a well-earned retirement.
Known for his kindness, loyalty, and love, Gilbert was especially devoted to children, making him a cherished father and uncle to his daughter, nieces, and nephews. Family was always his priority, and he dedicated himself to their care and happiness. He was deeply loved by all who knew him.
Gilbert was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Sabino and Dolores, and his siblings Gregoria Herrera, Teresa Villa, Margarita Gonzales, Juan Sabino Gonzales and his beloved and loyal baby/pup, Molly.
He leaves behind a legacy of treasured memories for his daughter, Samantha Jo Gonzales, and his siblings, Lupe Herrera, Sylvia Taylor, and Odilia Berry, as well as many other family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
