Glenn Elon Lazenby, 67, of Padre Island, Texas, peacefully passed on to his next adventure on October 23, 2024.
He was born in Pouce Coupe, British Columbia, Canada, to Franklin and Chloris Lazenby. Throughout his life, he was known for his resilience, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He proudly became a naturalized citizen of the United States, a milestone that marked the fulfillment of a long-held dream. It was a moment of immense pride for him, symbolizing his love for his new country and his belief in the opportunities and values it represents.
As a father, Glenn taught his children the value of hard work, how to laugh through life, and build a foundation of faith in God. He had many passions: living near the ocean, boating, camping, listening to classic rock, and restoring cars. He enjoyed living on the coast, and whether he was casting a line into the Gulf of Mexico or helping someone fish, he found joy in bringing smiles to those around him.
His health journey is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the importance of hope. Glenn was a medical miracle and he didn't complain about his health issues. He celebrated his "heart transplant birthday" and often expressed his immense gratitude for the donor family. Their selfless act gave him more years to laugh, create cherished memories with family and friends, and share the profound impact that the transplant had on his life.
His stories of fishing trips, practical jokes, and the cars he loved to restore will live on in the memories of those who were blessed to share in those moments with him. Glenn had a special bond with his numerous and extraordinarily devoted friends. Our lives were enriched by his kindness and warmth.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria, children, Ryan Lazenby (Melanie) and Amanda Lazenby-Guenthner, his grandchildren, Glenn and Rosalie Lazenby, sisters,
Darlene Bailey, Marlene Grant (John), and Heather Vollmering.
Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Lazenby and mother, Chloris Lazenby.
A Celebration of Life, to honor and remember Glenn, will be held at a future date.
