In Loving Memory of Gloria Leal (Villarreal)
April 24, 1943 - September 19, 2024
Gloria Leal (Villarreal), cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024 at the age of 81. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was a lifelong resident dedicated to her son and grandchildren.
A proud graduate of Roy Miller High School in 1961, Gloria attended Del Mar College before embarking on a rewarding career at HEB, where she worked for over 30 years as a devoted bookkeeper and Florist. Her colleagues admired her focus and unwavering commitment.
In February 1988, Gloria's life was forever transformed by the arrival of her son, Brian Leal. As a passionate and nurturing mother, she poured her unconditional love into ensuring his happiness and well-being, instilling in him the values of love and care.
After retiring for HEB in 1992, Gloria pursued her passion for flower arranging, taking classes and starting a part-time business that created stunning arrangements for special occasions like Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and Christmas.
Known for her kindness and generosity, Gloria always supported others in their times of need. She opened her heart and home to friends and family, embodying the true spirit of giving.
Gloria is survived by her son, Brian Leal (Kaela), and her beloved grandchildren: Brendon, Arabella, and Aurora. She also leaves behind her sister, Teodora "Lola" Villarreal; her brother, Teodoro J. Villarreal Jr. (Irma); and her three nephews, Jonathon, Christopher, and Erik Villarreal. She was preceded in death by her father, Teodoro J. Villarreal, in 1990 and her mother, Eloisa S. Villarreal, in 1981.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 19, 2024 @1:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
Gloria's kindness, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those she touched. She is now at peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
