Graciela (Laurel) Magallan

Graciela Laurel Magallan, 77, passed away on May 6, 2024, at Corpus Christi Medical Center, Bay Area Hospital.

Graciela Magallan was born on December 1, 1946 in San Diego, TX, to Israel Laurel and Angelina B. Laurel.

Graciela graduated from Benavides High School in 1965 . She began her career in retail and worked her way up into Money Management, where she held the position of bookeeper until she retired.

Graciela married Vicente Magallan Jr. on September 27, 1971 in Corpus Christi, Texas. The couple had 2 children, Vicente (David) Magallan III, Lisa Marie (Gilbert) Garcia.

Graciela was best known for her strong family values and close knit family. Gracie loved music, especially tejano music, and loved to dance. She also enjoyed and was fascinated with modern technology and loved playing slot machines "maquintas" with her sisters in her latter years. She loved spending time with her family and especially with her grand children of whom she was very proud of.

Graciela is survived by her son Vicente (David W. Steuart) Magallan III , her daughter, Lisa Marie (Gilbert Garcia Jr.) Garcia, her granddaughter, Ava Brianna Garcia, her grandson, Jesus Garcia, her sisters Maria Irma L. Garcia, Yolanda L. Vasquez, and Olga L. Montes, and numerous cousins, nieces and newphews.

Graciela is preceded in death by her father, Israel Laurel, her mother, Angelina B. Laurel and her husband, Vicente Magallan Jr.

A Celebration of Life for Graciela L. Magallan will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 1:00 PM with rosary and church mass to follow. Services will be held at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in the Saint Jude Prayer Chapel 3502 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415. Burial Services to follow with no procession, to Rose Hill Cemetery located at 2731 Comanche St. Corpus Christi, Texas 78408 and will begin at 2:00 PM.
