Helen Irene Speer Rupp was born June 6, 1928, to A.P. Speer and Mildred Adeline Jackson Speer in Canton, Missouri. Helen was the middle child of three children.
On April 4, 1939 she was baptized in Bear Creek in Hannibal, Missouri.
On Aug 10, 1941 she attended the Theocratic Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses in St. Louis, Missouri. Sunday was "Children's Day," and those between 5 and 18 years of age were seated right in front of the stage. At the climax of his talk, Brother Joseph F. Rutherford spoke to all the young ones: "All of you . . . children . . . who have agreed to obey God and his King, please stand up!" All the young ones stood up. Then, Brother Rutherford exclaimed: "Behold, more than 15,000 new witnesses to the Kingdom!" All the children were then handed a copy of the "Children's" book with a comment from Brother Rutherford in the front of the book. That was one of her early highlights that affected Helen and all those young ones through their lives.
She married Bernard S. Rupp in 1946. They had three children, Cheryl Ann (Carter) , Dennis James Rupp and Deborah Renee (Hymers).
The Rupp's moved to Texas in the summer of 1977 to take care of her parent's A.P. and Mildred Speer and grew deep roots growing deep bonds with so many dear friends.
She began the full-time ministry as a regular pioneer continuously since 1987, not including her teenage years and totaling more than forty years service.
She has six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, her parents, her brother Jack, her sister Mary, and her daughter Cheryl.
One of her last prayers was for Jehovah God to continue blessing our brothers on the governing body and our international brotherhood, her family along with her spiritual family as well as everyone who doesn't yet know how much they need Jehovah God in their lives and bless the work of helping them to come to know him. Serving Jehovah God and having so many dear friends has been priceless for Helen. From Helen's family we thank you very much for being a dear friend and we look forward to seeing her again in the promised resurrection.
