Jacob William McNaughton

November 14, 1994 ~ August 1, 2021 (age 26)

Jacob William Gullard McNaughton, beloved son, brother, cousin and friend, went peacefully to his heavenly home on August 1, 2021. He was born on November 14, 1994, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Patrick and Susan McNaughton. His smile and laughter brought joy to his family for 26 wonderful years.

Jacob had a zest for life, a passionate spirit, and a heart of gold. He lived his whole life with a "full send", no holds barred attitude exemplified by daring adventures in skydiving, working on turbine platforms hundreds of feet in the air, pursuing speed, and any other activity that required a high degree of fearlessness. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors - which sometimes ended with his truck being sunk in the mud.

He loved spending time with his friends - they were like family to him. He enjoyed singing, acting like a goofball, telling corny "dad" jokes, and cooking. He dubbed himself "The Cobbler Master," declaring with adamant certainty that it was his "calling."

Those who had the privilege of knowing him knew that Jacob was extremely proud of his Scottish heritage. Jacob was a world traveler, but dreamed of going to Scotland to visit the ancestral castle. He was the proud owner of a tacti kilt, and was ready at any moment for shenanigans.

Before his cancer diagnosis, Jacob was a Wind Turbine Technician throughout the Midwestern states. He worked hundreds of feet in the air, in all weather conditions, wiring and rewiring turbines. He was up and down the ladders all day. Jacob loved to race up the ladder trying to beat his personal best of 5 minutes. Best of all, he loved sitting at the top on the platform looking out at the scenery surrounding him.

Jacob leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents Patrick and Susan McNaughton, his sister Kelsey, his brother Noah, grandmother Shirley Gullard, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him dearly.
