Jacqueline Rose (Spadafora) Boyd

Jacqueline R. Boyd, 81, passed away on February 13, 2022, in Corpus Christi, TX. Born in Utica NY on January 25, 1941, she was the daughter of Vincent and Rose Barbano Spadafora.

Jacqueline graduated from Oneida High School in 1958 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English from State University of New York at Albany in 1962 and a Master of Arts in English in 1963. She started her career as a social worker in East Los Angeles and San Diego, CA. Followed by a 29-year career as a lifelong educator working as a teacher, program specialist, and school counselor with at risk children in the Ventura Unified School District. She went on to earn a second Master's degree in School Counseling in 1996 from California State University, Northridge.

Jacqueline married William E. Boyd, Jr. on December 31, 1966, in San Diego, CA. The couple had one child, Ericka Boyd.

Jacqueline, a long-time resident of North Padre Island, was involved with several clubs and organizations, including the Padre Island Yacht Club (PIYC), Padre Island Enrichment (PIE) Club, and the Red Hat Society where she served as a board member, officer, or committee chair/member for all. She was the first to volunteer for almost any job and pitch in where needed. She loved living on the island and enjoyed walking along the beach regularly. She also adored singing, line dancing, Mahjong, and crafts.

Jacqueline is survived by her husband, William E. Boyd, Jr.; daughter, Ericka Boyd of Frisco TX; Sister, Fran Manzella of Ithaca NY; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Thomas and Peggy Spadafora of Canastota NY, Richard and Jan Spadafora of Oneida NY, and Robert Spadafora of Oneida NY; sister-in law, Elaine Sorbello Spadafora of Canastota NY; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Betty Boyd of Granbury TX and Lynn and Larry Dalton of Bay City MI; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Jacqueline is preceded in death by her father, Vincent L. Spadafora Sr; mother, Rose Spadafora; brother, Vincent L. Spadafora, Jr.; brother-in-law, Fred Manzella.

A memorial service for Jacqueline Boyd will be held on North Padre Island - date and location to be determined.
