James Burd, 74, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Orange Grove, Texas.
James was a hardworking and devoted man who valued faith, family, and perseverance throughout his life. He had a deep love for the Scriptures and was passionate about serving "The Almighty God Jehovah" and His son, Jesus Christ.
James was known for his strong work ethic, continuing to work hard every day even beyond retirement age. He also enjoyed many hobbies and talents throughout his life. James was a gifted bowler and softball player who earned numerous plaques and awards for his athletic abilities. He loved music, cars, and his children.
James is survived by his mother, Nora Burd; his children, James Curtis Burd, Crystal Butcher, Jeremy Burd, Patricia Watson, and Jason Burd; his sisters, Deborah Woodruff and Doris Nichols; and thirteen beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Burd; his father, James Burd Sr.; and his brother, Robert "Bob" Burd.
