James Wendell Emerson

James Emerson (Jim), 75, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Corpus Christi, TX.  James was born on August 24, 1948 in Waco, TX.

James graduated in 1967 from Calallen High School.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1967- 1972 where he achieved Sergeant status.  He completed a 45 year career as a Postal Carrier before retirement. It is said that he was a brightness and brought so much cheer to the station and it wasn't the same in the office when he retired. He was truly loved by his community.

James was an outstanding sportsman; he especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, and arrowhead collecting.

James had 3 children, Christi Cadena of Three Rivers, TX, James Emerson of Wimberley TX, Kelly Witham of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was extremely proud of them all.

James is survived by Christi Cadena - daughter, James Emerson - son, Kelly Witham - daughter, Joe (Freddy) Cadena - son-in-law, Jared Cadena - grandson, Jason Cadena - grandson, Joseph Cadena - grandson, Trent Emerson - grandson, Blake Witham - grandson, Cooper Mullins - grandson, Justin Emerson - grandson, Rylan Emerson - granddaughter, Jennilou Emerson Isackson - sister and Sherilynn Pack - sister.

James is preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Emerson.

In lieu of flowers, the children request donations be made in his honor to the
Coastal Conservation Association-Texas.
