James Grimley Obituary


James Grimley, 65, passed away on July 15, 2022, in Taft, TX.

James Grimley was born on July 10, 1957 in Tonkawa, OK.

James began his Career as a Drywall after being honorable discharged from the Army and went on to work for himself for 35 years, before becoming a House Manager for a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center.

James was best known for his immense passion for Freshwater Bass Fishing. James taught adolescents recovering from drug and alcohol addiction how to fish and was very proud to start a program - Get Kids Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs. He also loved to country western dance. He loved country music, reading his Bible, and helping others. He volunteered at churches and loved feeding the homeless and whatever he could do to help others. What Made him the happiest was for him to see a smile on someone's face or for someone to simply just say "Thank You" and to him that was worth more then anything. Most importantly he loved his children and all of his grandchildren. . He was a great man and a great friend to many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James proudly served his country in the Army from 1975 - 1980.

James is survived by his daughter's Audra Powell, Kristie Fisher, his son JD Grimley as well as 9 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 1 great-granddaughter.

James is preceded in death by his grandmother, Loueva Fern Randal, his mother Emma Grimley, his father Duke Crohn, his brothers Butch Grimley, Herbie Crane, David Crane, and his sister Alisha Crane.
