Obituary
Jimmy Cantu, beloved son, father, grandfather uncle and friend passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. Jimmy was born on November 24, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas to his loving parents, Avelino and Jesusa Cantu.
Jimmy is preceeded in death by his parents, his sister Carmen Morales, his brother Carlos Cantu, his nephew Avelino R. Cantu, III and his niece, Anna Cantu.
He is survived by his devoted partner of 31 years Olga Lopez, his son, James Cantu, three granddaughters: Jazmine D. Cantu, Niah A. Cantu and Viviana R. Gomez, his brother Abel (Yolanda) Cantu, two sisters: Hilda (Luis) Talamante and Mary Ellen Garza, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Jimmy Cantu would like to express the sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Christus Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassionate care and comfort they provided Jimmy.
A funeral mass will held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. The celebration of Jimmy's life will begin with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00 AM; a funeral mass will begin immediately thereafter.
