Joan Isaacks Obituary

Joan Ann Isaacks, 89, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on December 28, 2024, in Ingleside, Texas. She was born on September 12, 1935, in New York to Paul and Marion Mademann; she had one brother, Paul
(deceased).

After graduating Saint Aquinas Catholic High School, Bronx, NY, Joan joined the U.S. Air Force, where she was assigned to the squadron of the first B-52 Bomber being tested
at Eglin Air force Base during the Korean War era. Her rank was Airman Second Class with the position of Classification Specialist. She was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was recognized for establishing a Red Cross life saving program along with being a Girl Scout troop leader in Penang, Malaysia and Flour Bluff, TX.

She loved to travel the world and introduce her children to different cultures. She married and had three children: Randy (deceased), Frank, and Margaret. After returning
to the United States, she was the personal secretary of the Corpus Christi Chief of Police. She would later join the Army Reserves (Sergeant) as Assistant Operations Manager.

Joan eventually settled in Portland, Texas, where she worked at DuPont as a production technician for several years before transitioning to a career as a real estate agent. She was President of the San Patricio Board of Realtors and awarded Top Sales Agent several times.

Later in life, she married Carl Isaacks and made her home in Ingleside, Texas, where she lived for 35 years. Joan was an active member of her community. She served on the Ingleside City Council and contributed to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Her love for animals and her compassion for others were defining aspects of her character. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who brought warmth and kindness to all who knew her.

Joan is survived by her husband, Carl Isaacks; her son, Frank Butler; her daughter, Margaret Arnecke; and her stepson, Ryan Isaacks. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Nathan Butler, Dillon Butler, Kaytlin Butler, Lauren Arnecke, Adam Arnecke, Austin Isaacks, Tyler Isaacks, Molly Isaacks; as well as her great-granddaughters Ellie and Penny Butler.

Joan was not only my loving and faithful wife and companion for 46 years but was the most wonderful woman I've ever known. I will miss her for the rest of my life. ~ Carl
