Jon J. McCue

Jon J. McCue, “Captain”, of Ingleside, TX sailed to his final destination on January 3, 2021 at age 69, surrounded by his family. Jon was born in Toledo, OH on February 12, 1951 to Robert & Muriel (Lauder) McCue. He was a graduate of Whitmer High School, class of 1969.  He worked for the City of Toledo in the Forestry & Street Departments prior to working for DuPont. He moved to Corpus Christi, TX in 1990, and worked for OxyChem until his retirement. He was very patriotic & loved the Texas culture. Jon loved boating & sailing & obtained his 100 ton on shore/off shore power, tow & sail Captain’s license as a hobby.  He brought laughter to his family & friends, often the life of the party & a big kid at heart. Jon loved all animals big & small but loved being with his family most of all.

Jon is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Diane McCue; siblings, Russ (Bonnie) McCue of Toledo, OH, Susan Case of Munich, Germany; children Amy Willey & Jon “Butch” McCue of Ingleside, TX, Greg Elgin & Brad Elgin of Houston, TX; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 dogs, 2 cats, 4 chickens & 3 fish. He had many that called him grandpa & all will dearly miss his “noogie” kisses on the head. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  

The family will have a Celebration of Life on February 13 beginning at 2:00 with prayer at 3:00 located at his home at 2597 Dansforth, Ingleside, TX.
