Jose Eliazar Lira

Jose Eliazer Lira, 74, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 25, 2021, following a brief fight with leukemia.

Jose was born in Villa Unión, Coahuila, Mexico on December 24, 1946. He graduated from The Academic College of Mexico with an Accounting degree in June 1966.

Jose was married to Dolores on December 22, 1976. They were married for 44 years. Together they had 3 beautiful daughters.

Jose worked as a carpenter and a contractor for many years. He was always a hard worker who put his heart into everything he did. He enjoyed making friends with complete strangers. He loved going to the harbor to watch the ships come and go. He was always full of life and had silly antics. He was a kind man who would do anything he could to help people out. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Jose is survived by his wife Dolores, daughters Tina Dorr and wife Arleen Coons from Van Buren, Maine, Valerie Lira and partner Amanda Blackmon of Corpus Christi, Amy Lira and husband Roy Chavera of Jenks, Oklahoma, his sister Minerva Treviño from Acuña, Mexico, brother Armando Lira from Del Rio, Texas, his grandchildren Brandon Lira, Danielle Dorr, Noah Dorr, Alaina Chavera, and Shelby Chavera, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Silverio and Argentina Lira and several brothers and sisters.

In respect of Jose's wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Dolores Lira 3602 Marion St. Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
