Larry E Kosta

Larry Eugene Kosta, age 77, of Port Aransas Texas, passed away June 20, 2024.

Larry was born in Galveston, Texas (BOI) November 3, 1946. He graduated from Lamar High School and later earned his degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Larry met Misty Leigh Mayfield at work in Houston, Texas and they were married on May 22, 1998. They created a beautiful life filled with treasured memories.

Larry worked for the State of Texas as Executive Director for TDLR-Texas Department of Regulations and later as a lobbyist for 20 years before retiring in 2019.

Larry loved his family and had a deep sentimental spirit. He was known for his kindness and generosity. Larry loved the simple things in life and approached life with a positive outlook. He loved to travel, especially to the Sandals resorts where he and Misty enjoyed relaxing and being pampered. Larry and Misty collected hearts on their travels and made frequent trips to San Francisco hunting for the perfect heart for their collection.

Larry is preceded in death by his father, Antonio Kosta and his mother Pearl Kosta.

Larry is survived by his wife Misty of 26 years, son Robert Kosta (fiance' Lana Sveda) of Austin, Texas, his son David Kosta of Westminster, Colorado, his brother Tony Kosta of Parker Heights, Texas.

Larry was blessed with great in-laws and loved Misty's family, especially Brenda Mayfield (mother-in-law) TR Mayfield (brother-in-law) and wife Betsy, Keaton and Kenna Mayfield and families.

Larry leaves behind countless friends and extended family that will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at Harbor Church, 305 Cotter St, Port Aransas Texas on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at noon.
