Lisa Cortez

We are sad to announce the passing of our angel, Lisa Acosta Cortez, 46 years old. She was the daughter of the late Ruben Cortez Sr. and Juanita A. Cortez. Lisa was a proud graduate of Gregory Portland High School and a dedicated Wildcat fan. She was also a huge Texas Rangers baseball fan. She loved her family deeply, especially all her nieces and nephews.

She loved to play baseball and football with them and was the best quarterback you could ask for. She was the life of every family gathering and was the life of the party with her famous dance moves and her funny jokes. She was our ray of sunshine and will be deeply missed.

Her siblings include Hector (Debra) Cortez, Ruben Jr (Rosemary) Cortez, Grace (Juan) Hernandez, Thelma (Ricky) Martinez, Mark Cortez.

Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory TX. on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Viewing for the public will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM followed with the recitation of the Holy Rosary. A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Gregory Cemetery, Gregory Texas.
