Lois Ruteria Bennett (Tera), 67, passed away on February 26, 2024, in her home in Mathis, TX.
Tera was born on December 2, 1956 in Corpus Christi, TX, to Frank Hover Jr. and Billie Jean Burleson.
Tera attended Flour Bluff High School where she met & married Rocky Rains, twice! The couple had 2 children, Niki Rains-Calloway, & Jeremy Rains. She later divorced & eventually married Jack Bennett Jr. The couple had one son, Chance Bennett.
Tera started her career in Cosmetology while bartending in the coastal bend area, and went on to work for many years at Tera's Hair & Nail Salon. Later in life, Tera ran her own karaoke show in the local area nightlife.
Tera was best known for her love of music & karaoke, going to the river, sunbathing, and going fishing. She was also known for her strong will & quick wit. She loved going to all you can eat buffets and getting kicked out for eating too much crab legs and shrimp!
Tera is survived by her daughter- Niki Rains-Calloway, her sons- Jeremy Rains & Chance Bennett, her grandchildren- Nettie Brock, TJ Creek, & Jaylee Rains, her great granddaughter- Nova Baca, as well as numerous siblings & their families, including Robbie Crites (Debbie), Kyle Hover (Lisa), Mark Hover, James Sparks, Mary Moore, & Sue Sparks & former brother-in-law, Rick Mahan. She has numerous surviving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Tera is preceded in death by her father- Frank Hover, her mother- Billie Fuller, her sister- Kandace Mahan, her brother Jimmy Keith, and her ex-husbands- Rocky Rains & Jack Bennett Jr.
She has another sibling, Tony Dixon, whereabouts unknown.
The service for Tera Bennett will be held on April 6, at 11:00 AM. at the Mathis Church of Christ, 407 E Rockport St. in Mathis, Texas.
*Flowers or arrangements can only be delivered to the church on Saturday morning between the hours of 10:00 AM & 11:00 AM.
