Maria (Martinez) Ramirez

Mary "Darling" Ramirez (Martinez), age 82 of Rockport Texas went home to be with the Lord on November 21st, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family.

 “Darling” was born on April 5, 1939 to Erlinda & Jose Martinez in Austwell, Texas.  “Darling” was the eldest of her 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

She married in Rockport and had two daughters. Mary worked in the cafeteria for the school district for 40 years before retirement.  Everyone knows she was famous for her impeccable cooking, something she was always doing. A devout Catholic, Mary dedicated most of her time to her faith, and really enjoyed serving the sisters at Schoenstatt. “Darling” was a lifelong resident of Rockport, TX and member of the Sacred Heart parish and community.

Her eldest grandchild gave her the nickname "Darling" and that was what her whole family called her ever since.

She is survived by her daughters Irene Ramirez & Ida Jeter of Rockport, grandchildren Yvette Garcia and Kyle Hannagan of Chicago, Taylor Jeter and Roberto Garcia of Rockport, great-grandchild Genevieve Garcia of Rockport, sisters Dora Sweatt & Janie Almanza of Houston, sister Ermalinda Gonzales of Ingleside and brother Jose Martinez of Rockport, countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Marcelino Ramirez of Rockport, parents Erlinda & Jose Martinez of Rockport, and brothers Fernando & Gilberto Martinez of Rockport. Special thanks from the family to Harbor Hospice for their services. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A private service will be held in her honor at a later date.
