It is with great sadness that the family of Mary McGinnis Goodwin 74, of Port Aransas, announces the passing of this beautiful lady on October 3, 2022 in Corpus Christi, TX.
Mary was born in Clovis, New Mexico to Fred and Virginia McGinnis on November 18, 1947 She graduated from Clovis High School in 1965 and then attended SMU where she earned a Masters degree. She married Roger Goodwin on August 20, 1980 in San Patricio County. Mary worked as a teacher in Port Aransas for 30 years. She loved teaching and loved all of her students. She has made a difference in countless lives; she always had time to listen and offer advice or give words of encouragement and a hug if that’s what was needed. She was involved in the Port Aransas Community throughout her life. Most recently, she was a volunteer at Friends of the Ark and she absolutely loved it.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Goodwin, her parents Fred McGinnis- Father and Virginia McGinnis and her brother.
Mary is survived by sons Roger Goodwin(Cindy), Jon Goodwin (Michelle), her daughter, Kimberly Patten. Mary was blessed with 14 grandchildren: William Goodwin, Christian Boler, Stephen Goodwin, Robert Boler, Kitara Goodwin, Stassany Boler, Hailey Goodwin, Kayla Garner, Jordan Goodwin, Donnovan Longbine, Samantha Longbine, Jonathan Longbine Julie Patten, Travis Goodwin and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday October 13, 2022 at Community Presbyterian Church in Port Aransas
