Mary Howell Obituary

Mary Kathleen Howell, 82, went home to Jesus Saturday, September 7, 2024. She is survived by her daughter Jil Goleman of Corpus Christi, son Jack Howell of Austin, sister Nita Collier of Kilgore, Texas, brother George Hill of Phoenix, Arizona and many other members of the Ross Hill and H.R. Howell families. She is preceded in death by her husband David Howell, son David Earl Howell, son-in-law Tom Goleman, parents Ross & Della Hill, brother Charles Hill, and sisters Beverly Banks and Joyce Hill.

Mary K was born January 30, 1942, in Lubbock, Texas to Ross & Della Hill. She married David Howell on May 10, 1958. They were married 52 years when he passed in March of 2011.

She was a proud member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and the Ladies Chapter of The American Business Club (AMBUCS). Throughout her life, Mary K cared for others by owning a daycare and teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed being a member of Annaville Baptist Church. She was a talented seamstress who created and altered wedding dresses for many brides including her daughter, Jil. She loved spending time with her family and friends playing games and cards and doing jigsaw puzzles. She especially loved traveling the United States with her family and seeing the beauty God created. She loved showing her children the beautiful places God painted.

When her children were younger, Mary K was the fun mom. She created a home where all the other children gathered - to play, have sleepovers, share their successes and problems, or cook in the kitchen. She would let them play and deal with the mess later. The family loves the memories you share with them of what a great mom she was.

A Celebration of Mary K's life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Annaville Baptist Church, 4025 Violet Road, Corpus Christi. In lieu of flowers, please consider a bible donation to The Gideons International, a charity that was dear to her and her husband. https://www.gideons.org/donate
