Mary Catherine (Bauman) Thomas

Mary Catherine Thomas, lovingly known as Cathey, passed away on November 14, 2025, after a tough and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 18, 1960, to Al and Anne Bauman.

Cathey is survived by her devoted husband, Enrique "Henry" Almaguer; her children, Jeremy Atchisson, Cassandra (Juan) Cadena Jr, Desiree Thomas, Jamie Puente, Andrea (Daniel) Flores, and Molly Thomas; 17 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Jay Bauman, Carol Olivier, and Susan (Bobby) Grobe, along with many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Al Bauman; her stepmother, Jerrie Bauman; her mother, Anne Bauman; her brother, Tommy Bauman; and her in-laws, Raul and Carmen Almaguer.

Cathey cherished the outdoors and found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of life. She loved the beach, fishing, and camping with her family. She was always up for a good concert or a sporting event, but what she treasured most was time spent supporting her grandchildren at their school and athletic activities. Weekends were often filled with family gatherings and backyard barbecues, where Cathey's warm presence brought everyone together.

Known for her big heart, Cathey was someone who was always there for others. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cathey's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the generosity and kindness shown during this difficult time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
