Maryann Joann Garcia has joined her loving husband Nick Thursday, November 2, 2023, peacefully with her family by her side. She had just celebrated her 74th birthday on Tuesday October 24, 2023.
Maryann was raised as a farm girl in Kingston Pennsylvania to parents Francis and Anna Andruskevitch. She graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1967. She eventually moved to Portland TX, where she married Nicanor Garcia Jr. Together they raised 3 children. She was blessed to be a stay at home mom while her children attended school and once they all graduated she joined the workforce. She devoted many years to working at Stripes, all while raising 2 grandchildren as her own, and was able to retire in 2015.
In her golden years, she loved spending time with her great-grandsons, even during numerous hospital stays she spent hours on Facetime with Adonis and Avrum. Countless holidays were celebrated at Nick and Maryann's house over the years. Memories were made searching for Easter eggs across the street, hitting pinatas in the tree in the front yard, playing basketball, and sitting around the dining room table either gossiping or making tamales when it got cold. She got great joy from time spent going out to eat with her kids and great-grandkid and her special bonding grocery shopping trips with Veronica.
Maryann was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Anna Andruskevitch, son Martin Andruskevitch, brother Richard Hawryshko, sister Barbara Belles and her husband, Nicanor Garcia Jr.
She is survived by her children Angelina Flores, and Nicanor Garcia, III, her grandchildren, Angel Hernandez, Veronica Hernandez (Jon Ramirez), and Kristian Ortiz, 4 great-grandsons, and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
