Obituary

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 1:03 PM, Ofelia Covington took her first breath of heaven. She was surrounded with love from her daughter and family.

Ofelia was the proud and loving mother of her only child, Janie Morley. Together, they shared a loving relationship that yielded countless treasured and memorable moments. Ofelia was honored to have had an integral role in raising and nurturing her niece and two nephews in the absence of her late sister, Margarita Avitia.

Ofelia undoubtedly made the best homemade tortillas in Texas and Oklahoma. She was also the "go-to"seamstress for a quick repair. She enjoyed cooking, music, dancing, decorating, crafting, quilting and growing her beautiful plants. Having her family and friends near her brought her the greatest joy! Ofelia was very generous with anyone in need and gave without hesitation. She had an unmistakable and contagious laugh; she was so full of joy!!

Waiting to welcome Ofelia at the Gates of Heaven were her parents, Guadalupe and Trinidad Saldivar, her brother, Erasmo Saldivar, her sisters Margarita Avitia and Sylvia Moreno, her nephew Reyes Reyes, III and her niece, Lillie Saldivar.

Left to treasure her memory are her brothers, Guadalupe R. Saldivar, Jr., Santiago (Wendy) Saldivar of Taft, Texas, her daughter Janie (Troy) Morley of Moore, OK, her grandson Dustin Lynch of Corpus Christi, TX, her aunts Sylvestra Ramos of San Antonio, TX, Aurora Magoon of Altus, Ok. as well numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends whom she loved dearly.

Mom, you are loved beyond measure. May you Rest in Peace; until we meet again.
