Beloved son, brother, and uncle, Ramon Pena, joined his family in heaven on April 29th, 2025. He was born to his loving parents, Ubaldo, Sr. and Elvira Pena on November 2nd, 1945 in Gregory, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fidencio (Antonia) Pena, sister Eva (Juan) Perez, brother Ysidro (Rafaela) Pena, brother Ubaldo Pena, Jr, brother, Federico ( Dora) Pena and brother Emilio Pena, Sr. He is survived by his sister Conrada (Alfredo) Maldonado, brother Luis (Emma) Pena, sister in law Lucy Pena and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a parishoner at Immaculate Conception Parish in Gregory, Texas where he received all of his sacraments and attended Mass throughout his life.
He remained close to his nearby family and spent all holidays and celebrated important family events with them. He will be remembered for his independent, unique and often amusing personality. He was most certainly one of a kind and it was this individuality that endeared him to others. During his most robust years, he had an active social life and spent his days with a close group of friends who met daily at the park in Gregory. He valued his independence and remained self-sufficient for as long as he could. The indelible image of him going to and from Gregory and Portland on his bicycle illustrates the determined spirit he was so well known for.
He was an intelligent, regimented person who followed a simple formula that provided a straightforward, structured way of life. Those who knew him best were aware of his acceptance and fearlessness regarding the certainty of mortal death. He faced the transition from earthly to immortal life with a courage that was evident. At the end of his life, he embraced death and even welcomed it. So while our hearts may be saddened at the loss of an important fixture in our lives, we are comforted that he has finally achieved the peace and rest that he greatly longed for. He is now reunited with his beloved family whom he dearly missed.
The pallbearers will be Oscar Perez, Albert Maldonado, Antonio Pena, Luis H. Pena, Emilio Pena Jr, and Ramiro Pena.
