Raymond S. Najera, 60, was called by the Lord and received his wings on December 23, 2021.
Raymond S. Najera was born on September 28, 1961 in Kingsville, TX, to Protacio and Julia Najera.
On December 23, 2015, Raymond suffered a stroke and was found unresponsive at a job site. Family was informed he was going to be a vegetable for the rest of his life, but with his strong will to live, he fought to survive, and with months of intensive therapy, he recovered and gained the strength to live alongside his wife. His recovery was a miracle of God.
Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved to dance and as a CDL truck driver, he loved to drive an 18 wheeler. Raymond also graduated from the Police Academy and worked a short time with the Hebbronville Sheriff's Department.
Raymond served in the Marines from 1979 - 1980. He was very proud to be a veteran of the US Marine Corps and displayed his honor proudly.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lidia Rodriguez, his daughters Julie Olachia (Pepe), Emily Najera (Jorge), his son Raymond Najera Jr (Courtney), his step-sons Carlos Rodriguez (Elba) and Jesus Sierra (Korinn).
He is also survived by 5 sisters and 1 brother, 14 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Raymond is preceded in death by his father Protacio Najera, his mother Julia Najera and his brothers Protacio and Rudy Najera,
Family will hold a private service with burial to be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
