Rebecca "Becca" Jane Nelson Speegle, 74, formerly of 3109 S Tyler, Amarillo, Texas, stepped into her eternal life at 3 AM December 24, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 13, 1 PM at St Thomas Moore in Austin, Texas. Service will be live-streamed live for family and friends.
She appreciated the verses in Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are you saved, through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." John 3:16 was one of her favorite verses as well.
Becca was born October 21, 1949, to Clyde C Nelson and Lynda A West Nelson in Abilene, Texas. Rebecca Jane Speegle graduated from Cooper High School in 1968. Becca was a member of Hillside Christian Church in Amarillo. She volunteered her services in the book ministry of Westcliff Bible Church in recent years after she retired.
Becca worked hard all of her life to support her family. She began working June 20, 1995 at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch in the bookkeeping department and retired from the Boys Ranch on April 30, 2019. She was known for her sharp wit, great sense of humor, devotion to the Dallas Cowboys and her pets. Everyone who knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include: her son Ryan Patrick Speegle and wife Gaylann of Port Aransas; her daughter Amy Elizabeth Gipson and husband Jeremy of Canyon; four grandchildren: Courtney Ingersol of Austin, Caitlynne Speegle of New York, and Gunnar and Gwyneth Speegle of Port Aransas; her brother Reid Nelson and wife Susan of Amarillo; and her nephew Justin Nelson of Amarillo.
