Richard is survived by Richardo Antonio (Tony) Ornelas- Son, Ana Lisa Ornelas- Daughter, Libby Cooper and Rosa Ornelas - sisters, Bernado Ornelas- brother, many - nieces & nephews. [ ]-grandchildren
Richard is preceded in death by Antonio Ornelas - father, Josephanie Ornelas - mother
Richard attended Texas A & M Corpus Christi
While in the Marines Richard received the National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Vietnam Services Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation w/palm & frame, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge
Ricardo came from a high Musical Family in Corpus Christi,Father Antonio was A Music Teacher and Musician that worked and played with the Galvans,brother Raul had a Dr. In music and taught at Lamar University, and Ricardo received his masters at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and taught at Calallen middle school.
Burial: Costal Bend Veterans Cemetery, Corpus Christi, TX.
