On Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 Rocky R. Sims, loving husband, father and grandfather of 3 children passed away peacefully at the age of 68 in Humble, TX.

Rocky was born in Corpus Christi, TX, September 4, 1953.

He graduated from Miller High School in 1972

He became a Portland Police Officer in 1975 as a patrolman and retired as Chief of Police. After serving almost 24 years on the force Rocky loved is hometown of Portland, Texas, where he coached baseball for many years. Rocky was a well liked man by many people and will be truly missed.

He loved fishing, and most of all, he loved the Frio River. Con Can, Texas was his most favorite place on the planet. Rocky was proceeded in death by his father John Charles Sims, Mother Pauline A. Sims, brother John Charles II and sister Katherine Ann Maloney.

Rocky is survived by his wife of 48 years Olivia A. Sims, Daughter Brandy A. Wesson, Son John C. Sims III, Son Stephen B. Sims and grandchildren Caitlyn B. Voris, Cameron T. Sims, Darian K. Pavelka, Dawson C. Voris, Haley S. Sims, Brenna R. Sims, Kobe S. Sims, Aubrey L. Sims and 2 great grandchildren Samuel A. Sims, Teagan S. Scally.
