Roel (aka FATZ) Rodriguez was born on March 19, 1978 to Rene and Petra Rodriguez from Corpus Christi, TX.
Fatz was a Pisces; therefore, his zodiac sign explains his sensitivity, imagination, his deep emotion and his desire for love and affection. As an adventurous Pisces, he did not let life go in ordinary directions. He did not dwell in the past nor did the think about the future. Fatz kept everything real in present time. Fatz's zodiac sign ''Pisces'' is represented by a fish and ironically, Fatz in his very known ways, was a ''fisher of men," further linking the fish symbol to Christianity and Jesus. Fatz experienced much in his life at a very young age and ultimately as a grown man. He always shared the message of salvation with the people he loved and spoke much about life, family, love and second chances. He knew God loved him and he lived life to its fullest year after year.
He shared a love for music with his father and family. Fatz was also a passionate car club enthusiast who participated in car clubs within many communities. He shared his love for cars with people young and old through car events, discussions and an array of car projects. This passionate hobby grew his relationship with people as they shared knowledge and experiences regarding cars. He loved everything automotive from classic cars to low riders cars, exotic cars and much more. He Ioved being around car enthusiasts and actively participating in club activities and events throughout South Texas.
But when it's all said and done, the true real love of Fatz's life, of course, was the one and only Patty Montoya, whom he spent the last seventeen (17) years with. Patty offered tremendous support, encouragement when needed and most importantly, a positive environment for Fatz in everything he did. Her undying support, love and dedication made Fatz the best version of himself. Patty and Fatz shared a love story that was truly a fairy tale. They lifted each other's self esteem and confidence simply by living life together. They were each other's better halves. Challenging times in their lives made each of them stronger. Patty and Fatz never doubted their love for each other. Together they loved his kids, her kids, his nieces and nephews and her nieces and nephews and all their grandbabies that they were blessed to watch be born and helped raise when a helping hand was needed. Together they loved life, people, and unique experiences that God allowed them to experience together.
Fatz also had another special love which was his mother. He knew he had thrived in life because his mother never left his side. She was his rock and his salvation when he needed her. She pushed him to overcome many obstacles and helped him to see the good in himself and, therefore, the ability to see the good in everyone he met.
Fatz was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Salvador Rodriguez, Sr. and Eva Rodriguez; his maternal grandparents Andres Macias and Petra C. Macias and his brother Rene Rodriguez, Jr.
He was followed in death by his brother Ruben (Denise) Rodriguez.
Fatz is survived by his wife Patricia {Patty) Montoya, his father Rene Rodriguez, Sr. and his mother Petra Macias. He is also survived by his brothers Eloy Rodriguez and Bobby (Angie) Quinones. He is survived by his sisters Cynthia (Joey) Argotti and Letty (Kristin) Rodriguez.
Also left to cherish the many treasured memories of Fatz are his children Robert Bazaldua, Ryan Rodriguez, Anthony Montoya, Jessenia Morales, Riana Ybarra, Sparkle Lynn Prado, Serina Rodriguez, and Frank Goku Montoya. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
