On December 25, 2023, Ronald Ray Lightfoot Sr., age 82, peacefully journeyed to be reunited with our Heavenly Father. Born on November 26, 1941, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Augusta and Edith Lightfoot, Ron's legacy is one of kindness, humor, and a perpetual warm smile.
A man cherished by many, Ron found joy in his lifelong career, starting at the age of 15 and continuing into his late 70s, primarily in pipeline work and welding. His final professional chapter was at Rooster Iron Works, a position he held dear, fostering close connections with his boss, Steve, and forging enduring friendships with colleagues. The camaraderie at Rooster made Ron's retirement a bittersweet decision.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ron reveled in fishing escapades with his brothers and son, Ronnie. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, his later years you would catch him cheering for the Buffalo Bills. Ron's spiritual devotion was evident through his active involvement in his church, where he shared his faith and love for Jesus with enthusiasm. His compassionate heart extended to his many pets over the years, displaying a soft spot for strays he brought home on a whim.
In the early 90s, Ron encountered the love of his life, Ginger. Describing their meeting as the greatest blessing, Ginger attests that Ron deepened her connection to the Lord, inspiring her to embark on a dedicated Christian journey. Ron's pride in passing on the teachings of God to his children was evident, fostering a strong foundation of faith in his family.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Lightfoot; devoted son, Ronnie Lightfoot; daughters Trudy Steen (John) and Tonia Hines; stepdaughter, Lana Flores (Greg), and stepson Brian Proue (Stacy). He leaves behind his brother, R.L. Lightfoot, sisters Dixie McConathy and Juliet Bockhorst, 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ron joins his parents, Augusta and Edith Lightfoot, and siblings Harold, Leroy, Donald (twin brother), Niola, Patsy, and Barbra in eternal rest.
Funeral services will be held on January 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Venture Church, 3401 S. Alameda St., Corpus Christi, TX 78410, where friends and family will gather to celebrate and remember Ron's remarkable life.
