Scott Henry Kirchoff, 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 1, 1947, in Orange Grove, Texas, Scott was the son of Leroy and Brunhilde (Morisse) Kirchoff. He graduated from Texas A&M University-Kingsville (formerly Texas A&I University) with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture. Guided by a heart for service and a desire to make a difference, Scott joined the Peace Corps and spent time in Ethiopia teaching sustainable farming practices to local communities-an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to stewardship and compassion. Scott went on to retire from Ag-Pro (South Texas Implement) after 30 years as a dedicated Parts Manager. His passion for the land continued throughout his life, and he found great joy in restoring native prairie grasses and wildlife on the Kirchoff Family Farm. His efforts, along with those of his family, were recognized with the 2019 Lone Star Land Steward Award, a testament to his devotion to conservation and the land he cherished.
On May 28, 1983, Scott married the love of his life, Judy (Bowman) Kirchoff. With this union, he embraced a blended family, finding immense joy in fatherhood. Known for his warm humor, steady presence, and willingness to listen, Scott lovingly stepped into the role of father to all of Judy's children: Judy Broussard, Ronda Broussard, Sherry (Jeremy) Broussard Downey, Brian Ulch. Scott raised Jenifer Broussard, Stacie (Michael) Roach, and Amy Broussard as his own. Scott's proudest achievement was his family. He built a home grounded in love, acceptance, and unwavering support-proving that family is not defined solely by blood, but by the bonds we choose to nurture.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Brunhilde Kirchoff; his sister, Elise Kirchoff; his daughter, Judy Broussard; and his grandson, Brennon Bryant.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy; his brother, Don (Joyce) Kirchoff; and his sisters, Susan (Don) Ross and Brenda Kirchoff. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews: Tom, Danny (Jennifer), Jeff (Kristine), Mark, Rachel, Nathan (Julie), Michael, Parker, Shelly Gage, Wendy Kirchoff, Faye, Addie, Eli Ross, and Gracyn and Harbow Millikin. Scott's memory also lives on through his grandchildren-Cody Bell, Kacie (Porter) Storm, Connor (Kaitlyn) Ulch, Jillian Ulch, Sawyer Ulch, and Tristin Downey-and through the great-grandchildren who brought him so much joy: Katelyn and Aiden Benavidez, Braylon Soto-Agular, Elizabeth Smith, Jaxon and Leighton Storm, Case, Magnolia, Colt and Mavie Ulch, and Annaliyah and Christopher Bryant.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the many thoughts, prayers, and acts of kindness shared during this difficult time. A memorial service celebrating Scott's life will be held on December 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Northwest Senior Center, located within West Guth Park at 9725 Up River Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Scott with a donation to the charity of your choice.
