Sandra (Benavides) Mata

Sandra Benavides Mata, of Corpus Christi, Tx, was called to her eternal resting place on Monday January 18, 2021. Sandra was born on May 3, 1957 in Crystal City, Tx. to Manuel and Evangelina Benavides Sr. Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many. Sandra always put her family first, providing her husband and children and grandchildren with unwavering love and support. Married to her true love, Jesse, for forty-seven years; what a beautiful testament of faith, hope, love, and devotion.

Sandra retired from K-Mart after thirty-five dedicated years.  

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Evangelina Benavides Sr.; brother, Oscar Benavides; sister, Norma Linda Gomez.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jesse Mata; children, Melisa (Joe) Mata, Jessica (Carlo) Nino, Jessie (Christy) Mata, Michelle (Gabriel) Castro; brother, Manuel (Irma) Benavides Jr. of Corpus Christi; sisters, Yolanda (James) Boles of Houston, Christina (Hector) Torres of California, Susie Ruiz of Corpus Christi; along with many nieces, nephews, and 12 wonderful grandchildren.
