Senaida “Nana” Moreno took her first breath of Heaven on February 5, 2021 while surrounded by her loving family. Nana, as she was known, was born on April 10, 1936 to Elogio Ortiz and Luciana Ramirez in Taft, Texas. Living all of her life in Taft, she was married to Edwardo R. Moreno for 68 years until his passing. Together they lived a life of love and happiness and shared a large loving family between them.
Nana was known by her friends and family for many things. She will be remembered for her cooking, baking, and love she shared for others. She was a simple person who enjoyed Freddy Fender music, life and making the most of every day she lived. She would often make tamales for special occasions. She was very fond of everyone she knew especially her friends, neighbors, and her family.
Mrs. Moreno is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edwardo R. Moreno; parents, Elogio Ortiz and Luciana Ramirez; daughter, Melba Rodriguez; infant son, Natividad Moreno; and siblings, Elida Flores, Candida Herrera, and Humberto Ortiz.
Left to cherish her memories are children, Edward R. (Kathy) Moreno Jr., Adela (Rudy) Rodriguez, Patsy (Ralph) Gonzales, and Georgia Garcia; son-in-law, Ronnie Rodriguez; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Harbor Hospice for the care they have shown the family during this time.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Taft, Texas located at 120 E. Escobedo St. starting at 9:00am. A Holy Rosary will be recited in her honor at 12:00pm with a funeral mass to follow. A committal service will be held at Lamas Memorial Park at 800 AVE C in Taft, Texas at 2:00pm.
