In Loving Memory of William James Hendyrx

May 13, 1957 - May 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William James Hendryx who most know him as "Jamie" or James. He departed this life peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born on May 13, 1957, in Sinton Texas, to Gene and Letty Hendryx. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, James lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

William was preceded in death by his parents and sister Gail Franklin.

He is survived by his by his sisters Betty Johnson, Helen Jozwiak, Virginia Jozwiak, his girlfriend Norma Doria, his children, Kevin (Christina) Hendryx, Shane (Cheree) Hendryx and Amanda (Austin) Sheffer; as well as his grandchildren, Christian, Seth, Mallory, Chevelle, Colter and great- grandchild Landon. And, last but not least, James is also survived by his favorite child, Bo the cat.

James had a long career in construction running heavy equipment. He will be remembered not only for his hard work, but his kind heart, warmth, and humor.

James's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church, Gregory, TX. A public viewing will be held from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary, beginning promptly at 11:00 AM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Everyone is invited to a reception at the Immaculate Concepcion Catholic Church Parish Hall following the funeral mass.
