Bill passed away just as he hoped to...during a nap at home, with his beloved dog snuggled beside him, his trusted professional caregiver with him and music playing.
Bill was born to Gwyndolyn Garner and Luther Wailon Garner. He is survived by his daughters, Christa and Megan Garner, his sister Paula Nurius and many wonderful friends.
Bill was a kind man who cared deeply about his family, his Port Aransas friends, his beloved church community, and of course, his dogs. He contracted Lyme's Disease in his mid-twenties before it was well recognized in Texas. Bill struggled nearly all his adult life with this serious disease. He endured the effects of the debilitating disease with his faith, the support of others and a formidable will to fight for life. He will be dearly missed.
An online service will be held through First Baptist Church, Port Aransas, TX, in the near future.
